These holsters were built for a client who came in with three pistols and one requirement: outside the waistband, no retention strap, and his valuable guns never touching the flesh side of leather. Each one went through an iterative fitting process before wet molding, so the final product snaps onto the pistol with precision and stays put under daily exertion when worn with a proper belt. Shown here fitted to a Springfield XD-40, a PSA Dagger with compensator and red dot, and a Desert Eagle 1911.

The Build

• Outer: 7 oz Walpier Buttero, structured and durable, develops a rich patina with carry
• Liner: 5 oz Badalassi Carlo Minerva Vachetta smooth top grain, bonded and stitched to the outer
• Top grain on both contact surfaces, no exposed flesh side to collect grit or debris that can mar the finish
• More than 3/8-inch thick at the edges, double stitched with size 138 gold polyester thread
• Edges sanded through the grades to 600 grit, burnished with Tokonole, and sealed with beeswax
• Wet molded over a plastic-wrapped pistol for a precise snap fit with no retention hardware needed

The Process

Every holster starts with the actual pistol. Iterative fitting before molding means the final product is built to that specific gun, not a generic pattern. Worn with a quality belt, there is no movement, no rattle, and no chance of losing the pistol under real-world use.
